Homemade biscuits are a beautiful and delicious gift to give family, friends and colleges at Christmas. In this workshop we will spend the afternoon around my kitchen bench baking a variety of shortbread and Viennese biscuits, perfect for the festive season. Once baked, your biscuits will be packaged up into bikkie tins and tied up with ribbon.

During the afternoon:

• I'll show you how to prepare the biscuit doughs and how to create new flavours from the base dough;
• You will be shaping, cutting and piping the biscuits as well as decorating your biscuits and getting them prepared for baking;
• I'll chat about preparing larger batches of biscuits to simplify your baking process;
• We'll discuss packaging ideas to make your edible Christmas treats look festive (and I'll show you how to make tassels to add to the decorations).

This is a hands on workshop. Some of the biscuit doughs will be prepared ready for you to work with. Other recipes will be demonstrated and prepared during the workshop. You will be shaping and decorating your biscuits.

What you will leave with:    You will leave with three tins of biscuits and a large shortbread wheel or star. You will have the recipes used in the workshop so you can continue your biscuit baking at home.

If you have a group of four or more friends and you'd like your own private workshop on a different day/evening, please let me know and we can organise a time that suits you to bake biscuits.
